The Maha Mrityunjay Temple

The Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav was celebrated from February 26 to March 5, 2021 at the Maha Mrityunjaya Mandir in Nagaon district of Assam.  Home Minister Amrit Shah was present on the occasion.



 Something about the Great Death Temple

  •  Nagaon, (Assam) The Maha Mrityunjaya Mandir, located in the village of Ververi in the district of Barampur, is the largest Shivling in the world, with a height of 128 feet.  The temple section has been open for all devotees since February 28.

  •        The construction of the temple was started in 2003 with the help of Acharya Bhrigugiri Maharaj.  This place was chosen after the pursuit of Bhrigugiri Maharaj.  According to the Maharaja, in ancient times, the demon Guru Shukracharya performed Yajna on the site of the temple.


  •      About 250 priests from Tamil Nadu were coming to perform the Yajna of Pran Pratishthan of the temple.

  • 104 Yajna Kundas have been constructed and all arrangements have been made for the proper observance of Yajna.
